I'm having trouble with perspective in something I'm trying to paint. It's been many years since I've done anything like this and I've forgotten, even though all I have is one simple vanishing point (!). My problem is that I have a round object (those two things on each side of the window) and I'm unsure how to make them right. I've tried to find an answer online but nothing has helped so far..

I know the perspective is off on the window frame, it's a quick scribble to show my problem.

I'd be grateful for any advice.

Edited to say that the blue dot is my VP

Well...the beauty of small round objects like those is - you really *don't* have to worry about them.

You can't really do it wrong.... =)

If you start talking about large oblong objects then things change...but those? Nothing needed.

Really? But don't they seem way off to you or have I just been staring at them for too long?

Thanks for the quick response by the way

If you do the perspective lines to the circle, you will find that it is such a small object that you won't need to incorporate any distortion.

And like you said the perspective on the door is off.

And so this thread isn't a waste since, you got it right the first time. Keep working this. I want to see what you have in mind. I am pretty interested in what this is going towards.

Thanks for info too WarMage, appreciated.

It will be a gothic tower with girl. Well... hopefully. Might just turn into a nasty blob of ugly

I'm about 1/3 of the way through painting and will post when finished.

Yup =)

The only thing that would throw them off is size relation. And since there isn't really much of anything in there to change the context that the size of the door provides, there's nothing to be off.
