on the new www.netmosis.com look

i just hate playing "where am i going?". i dont want to wait for a (flash) mouseover to tell me where im going. please dont make them icons, cause i have no clue what a stick guy sitting at a desk means.

i also think that your outlines are way too harsh.

but mystery meat is sooo fun...i dunno whatever you got a point that i though about already but decided that i already spent too much time and finally gave up and did this...maybe in the future i'll change it so that the words are already up and you don't have to rollover. there's that text nav at the bottom for the unflashed and less adventuresome individuals but i guess the little flash icons should come out of the closet a little...outlines?(explain)...

• Your movie circle things never turn off! Im glad I glanced at your website for under 2 minutes or else I would have gone nuts! You deffinatly should make them turn off when the cursor is not over them.
• Your content area is kinda small. Kinda? I mean its extremely small. Its going to be hard to fit just about anything in there.
• Your whole navigation system is centered a little too much for my likings. I would suggest putting it in the top right cornor.That would give you more room for your content also.

jestah - that front page (the only one you looked at?) won't have much content, maybe just a blurb a link or two to new things and the news for the day. i took into consideration making the first frame static and then letting the colored frames loop over when you roll over, and i'm juggling that concept until i get all the content in. the other pages have much more room for content if you saw...i'm in the middle of moving offices and changing web servers and getting a new interface ready. I thought i'd throw this up and then tweak in once everything settles down. thanks for the comments...

about that stick guy, he supposed to be a teacher in front a desk to represent a resource area or something but i couldn't think up a short (3 or 4 letter) word that meant "reference" or "resource". i check the thesaurus...there will be some kinda title, evetually...

Well, I kinda liked the moving little flash buttons, they were cool to me, and I'm not going to stare at any page for 2 minutes, what an eternity! The icon with the guy and the desk, really should re-think that one, it's not very intuitive at all, at all. The interior pages, yah, the content area is small, but the pages inside are kind of boring, aren't they? A little more something happeining in the background would be good, I think.

SO! What else? I'm getting some odd spacig in the table layout with netscape, (on the front page), better look into that, gaps where no gaps should be, heh. I'd work on some way of giving advanced hints on mouseover, maybe a one line 'popup' like windows tool tips? Maybe alter the texts in the box. The interior pages need serious work. The logo and look is cool! I notice one pattern in one of the moving buttons, looks like the hubble picture of "starborn", on of my favorite star pictures (the pattern in my sig is from there.)

hey doc, thanks for the input. i'm actually working on some kinda background for the interior pages. i reworked the buttons. instead of the tool tip (good idea, not enough space) i'm gonna stick a vertical scrolling thing on the front page that describes each section and pauses on the description when its scrolling. i'll probably just have that, the news of the day, a slogan, a title, and a blurb on the front page (i'll make it fit).
another problem w/ javascript tool tips is that flash takes forever to incoporate non head javascript into. i haven't check my site on netscape yet (gotta do it, maybe tomorrow...)

once the content is in the site will look a little more full, i'm trying to keep the whole content area small so that i can get it in will 800 x 600 and still have room on the outside. i might put some kinda header in the background...i dunno...i'll start sticking content in and see what it looks like...thanks again...all of the moving parts are film clips from a stock video CD, i believe its called film textures v2 by digital origin...hmmm...netscape shouldn't be a problem...i'll check it out...what am i forgetting...

Only looked at the first page? Sorry about that Netmosis. I usually dont do that. I guess I figured since I had to go through another page then that would be how the rest of the site would look ... nevermind. Looking at it now it looks really nice. I like it.

I'm a bit confused. The 2nd link is the new design, right? netmosis.com is the old one?

Assuming I am right I dig the new design. I think the audio and still buttons have too dark a background to see the black text clearly. A lot of people have their monitors really dark, and so I keep mine that way now too.

I think some kind of header graphic on the sub pages might be nice. Maybe 1 subtle color to the overall design so that it's not just straight B&W since you are trying to convey a cutting edge feel.

I probably would never design a site at all like this, but you pulled it off cleanly and it gets points for looking unique in my eyes even though it is made of simple elements.

I would like to see the completed site, because I might have issues with the navigation... What's the difference between info & ? for example. It depends how you fill in the content though, it could be perfect for what you have...

the second link is the new site, i have a couple things to throw out here though:

in netscape i get this weird (very) table issue going on. the images get kinda outta place. i've tried a couple things and they didn't work. i've got one more idea but i wanna wait off until i see if there is an easier way.

there will be somekinda colorful header or at least interesting header.(tied into somekinda background fx)

when i tested it from school i found that is was also kinda dark. i just realized i keep my monitor bright for games...gotta fix that...

about the ? mark...i can't think of a word that means "resources" that is about 4 letters long...help???...the ? mark area will be tutorials, links, reccomended reading, and a FAQ...

really i need help on that netscape fix...

my code was too neat for netscape...i put the code for the flash objects on one line and i think it got rid of it...

i still need a four letter word that means resources...

I got the impressions of something like information, hints, tutorials and so on.
