OK, check out my main page (or any of my pages, actually!) I added a link to my copright insert that launches all 7 of my cams in a new OZONE style window. It's bright and garish and dark and somber, all things me, hope you like it!

PS: Sorry for the launched window, this seemed like one time it was called for.

Cool! After clicking on the link, I got a javascript error (line 312, char 1, 'cammer is undefined') though. The popup is definitely needed!

Yeah, I got the same error, IE 5.0 win 98, but the cams seem to work. You need to change the text color, it's barely visible on that next-to-black background. (Oh, never mind, the image behind the text hadn't loaded yet.)

Goodness, I hate the way that the refresh rate is set to 30 seconds by default, it gives me no time to download the images on a 56K. I'd also appreciate a button to refresh the images myself, if you don't think it would kill the bandwidth.

Love the red lines on one of the images, very clever!

One last thing: one of the rectangles on your main page says it's going to the cam, but its link is outdated, better fix that.

Oh, on the "view this cam streaming" page, the image at the top doesn't appear, and there's text at the botom that's pushed off the bottom.

Doc, you should make that popup window popup at the screen center. Also, there's something wrong with the cams page, it goes nuts (don't behave in the same way as the old page at primalshape) when I try to change timer interval.

OK, I tracked down that error, one of the common ones where you get the "what did I name that window?" thing going on, heh. I didn't really need to get too anal about that part, but I wanted to make sure that I named the launching window as I left, just in case I need to direct any content back at it later. Hmm, what else? I added a "force refresh" option, added an ornage bgcolor to that text window so you can read the text while the background is loading, can't duplicate the image not loading on the streaming window, and haven't figgered where to send that link that still goes to the old quickcam page.

Hmm? Seems to me the change refresh rate still works the same, I hope! The logic I used is this, if you had it at 60 seconds and its counted down to 40 seconds, and you up it to 120 seconds, it starts counting at 100 seconds from then, 120 - (60-40). When you move to a faster refresh rate, it starts at the max number, unless the timer is already below that, in which case it doesn't change at all. I worried about how this function should work, this seemed to make some sense to me, at least after c*****ning around with it for so long!

Thanks for all the feedback guys, Slime, let me know if that image in the streaming page was just a fluke or a continuing thing, cool?

Doc -- 1st things 1st: pretty cool. I like the format this way

couple things -- on the 'streaming' page...like slime said, image doesn't load.
also get a javascript error 'object expected'.
also, the window is not large enough for the content....I see the top half of the 1st text link and that's it.

I also like the red gridlines on the computer room cam....nifty

Dammit, I am *not* getting this problem on any of my browsers!

Ah! OK, I see the proiblem, or at leats why I'm not seeing the problem! I'm not viewing the same page as you guys, instead looking at the "local" version for inside my firewall.

Yow! Was that screwed up or what? I changed the names from .shtml to .html, and missed that one, so I kept pointing to the old broken one. Should look a tad bit better now, heh.

Ah, the main page is much better.

Earlier, after I posted my message, I realized that the "streaming" window only messed up with some of the cams, not all of them.

Hmm, I seem to have frozen the streaming cam window now. Weird. No, it was just slow, it's ok now. I'm not getting the same broken image problem anymore. (When I *did* get that problem earlier, the background wasn't red either, it was just not an ozoneish window at all.)

By the way, that long camera on the bottom is very dark...

Ah, OK, you fixed it.

Um, the "force refresh" link works, but it causes an error... line 1 char 1 object expected. (line 1 char 1 usually means it's an error inside something like onClick="" or onMouseOver="" or something like that.)

Cool cool, I found that error right away, good call there! (I was calling the force refresh function in an href, and the url went like <a href="forcerefresh()()"> that's what I get for too much cut and pasting!

The long skinny window is dark, mainly because of the intense darkness we get around here after midnight, and before dawn! Hmm, there was a cord hanging down right in front of the lens, that didn't help much either. There, I set that cam back to auto brightness, even though it seems to prefer things a bit brighter than me, hrmph.

Hmm? I dunno, let me check the cam and see what Malin's up to. Malin? yep, that's where *she* is, hi sweetie! Puss!

Seriously, sometimes we sit on the sofa and watch TV. We've even been known to sleep, and occasionally go to work. (I'll add the work cam to my rotation, heh.)

Hey Doc,
I was just wondering how long it took you to set up your first Ozone cam? I am going to have to do the same type of deal for my High School and I was wondering how tough of a task is it to complete?

Gah, stupid timerform.timer! I don't know why I get that error sometimes, seems to have something to do with which things go into cache first, and the timer starts before the form element is written fully! I'll ad another layer of error trapping on that.

Hmm, the first cam went up pretty quickly, as I remember. It's gotten pretty straightforward, as long as you have a static IP# you'll do great for streaming right out of the box mostly, and the FTP bit was even easier. Which cam are you going to go for, and which platform will you be running on? I can give you a quick walk-through, you should be up and camming within an hour.

Doc -- yeah i caught some of that...couldn't figure out what the hell you were doing....

saw a shot of just the ladder there with noone in the room...was thinking 'damn he's got a lot of crap in his living room' .........and then I was thinking 'damn I've got too much interest in what's in his damn living room' ....

I'm seeing the shots of the lights and the curtain thingee now....what is that curtain thing exactly? looks like a shower curtain........

{{edit}}heh...I'm seeing a second angle of the curtains now...makes more sense. Now I'm just wondering..how many cameras do you have exactly? seem to get shots of different areas from time to time

And I was thinkin Doc....I've had it running all day in the background today...watching you and malin bounce back and forth looking at eachother's screens..you need to each set up a (3rd?) monitor on your desks that shows the other's screen. save you the hassle

All of the computers that I am going to be working in is in Windows, unfortunatly, however it makes networking easy. The computers that I will be using at my school for the live streaming would be on Windows NT 4.0, however we have a t-1 line directly to the school. It will be a little more difficult I guess since NT gives us limited access. Can you still run me through? I am not sure what kind of camera yet since the school will be buying it. Can you recommend one so I can tell the person who is buying it?
