The theme of this (proposed) siggie is probably way too overdone, but What do the experts think?

BTW-
Does anyone have any magic techniques for cleaning up edges of
transparent GIF's???

Also, what's a good public domain tool for animated GIF's - I don't
like JASC.

Thanks for everything

what's a good way to clean up the edges of gifs? the way i do it is i make a background on my pic. all it is, is just the color of the background the image is going to be on. if i am going to post here i use (36,0,0) Then i merge all layers, decrease color depth and set (36,0,0) to be transparent. If you look at your pic with transparency on, you might see some color around your pic you don't want. If the pic isn's a square then making that color transparent will probably just make your pic worse. the good news is since the background color is the color the pics going to be on, you won't notice the extra color.

hopefully that makes sense, if not just use a background color in your pic the same as where the pic's going to show up.

whats a good animation tool? i think a lot of people here use image ready(it comes with photoshop) i have psp. what i usually do is draw it in psp, then paste into animation shop.

I use the bg color R 40 G4 B4 for the ozone, and I use ImageReady for my animated gifs.

Heh, that sig has reminded me of one of my old sigs.

Anyway, for animated GIFs I would recommend GIF Movie Gear (shareware).

Well, ImageReady comes with PS5.5+, so I had to use other GIF animating program in the past and I got used to GIF Movie Gear...

Yes, Gif movie gear is a *great* program. But don't you have to pay after 30 days or it won't run?

Nice neon btw (both of you).

Well, I went to www.gamani.com and dl/installed the thing, and it came UP saying
"your timelimit has expired" (WTF??!!) - man, this is one company that keeps a tight leash on their licenses.

I've had programs do that... It's annoying.
