![]() When I bought this CS (chicken-&#$%) computer it came with a 12GB HD. Some time ago, after many systems crashes, I lost the full 12 GB capacity of my HD. The current install of Win98 only sees 2GB of disk space (as did the Win95 install b4 it). Surface testing sees no problems with media. A guy I was talking to said I needed to re-partition the HD since it probably hadn't been done as it was with the original preinstalled (bundled) SW. |

![]() no its not. the only way to partition a disk without formatting it (loosing all data) is to use a special software like Powerquests Partition Magic. |

![]() If I remember correctly, Win98 comes with FAT32 converter (Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/FAT32 Converter) which you can use to convert your current partition from FAT16 to FAT32 system which has support for disks larger than 2Gb. After that you can use free Ranish Partition Manager to resize newly created FAT32 partition... |

![]() i'm gonna test out ranish partition manager. glad to hear a successful partition story. two of my friends had horrible experiences with partition magic and lost all their data so i avoided it at all cost and stuck with good ol dos fdisk. let's see how ranish works out. thx for the tip! |
