What you're railing against Meta is a tenet of the US system of private property. The kind of thing you're advocating exists as a form of government. It's called communism. As government systems go, it's not a bad idea. But there's just as much chance for corruption and abuse there as within the one we have in America where the notion of private property prevails.

But if you want to change the world. Go right ahead. And good luck.

See meta, what you - once again - fail to see, is that I (and many of the other people you seem to be 'fighting' against for no apparent reason) *do* care a great deal, and I *do* spend a lot of time identifying and working against what I perceive as problems. However, not every issue is as clear cut, black and white, good vs evil as you seem to want to make every fucking thing.

It goes back to our 'conversation' some time back about the need to control.....I don't have that need. I can live within the world and adapt.....I don't need everything to fit neatly into my pre-determined categories.

You obviously do, and *that* is a big part of the problem with the world. Too many people who want to make each and every issue that doesn't sit well with them into a fucking crusade. But besides.....I still recall you saying that we at the asylum were just a bunch of fools who would end up living by *your* decisions about technology, and we werent' worth your time.....so why the fuck are you here arguing this stupid shit in the first place?

Ohh, DL. Dee-ell, Dee-ell.

Fine fine. I'll give you some attention. You've just been starving for it! I've done by very best to ignore you because I *thought* that you were just being an honest, ass-mouthed opponent of my philosophies (and silliness). However, it has become clear that you just want me to say hello.

Hello, there.

Thank you for being so understanding. Now, and previously.

However, I am so important and you are so beneath my godlike powers and knowledge that you are not worth my extremely valuable time.

Now, I believe I've wasted my very last second either reading or responding to whatever it is you have to say in the future.

nice way to avoid the issue. A+ for effort.

maybe you should try reading what I said and actually thinking about it for a change. although, *obviously* I just can't comprehend your extreme mental powers.....

well, tell you what - when you get over yourself, come have a conversation

Uhhh Metahedron, you do come from this planet, don't you? Good, glad to hear you're 'fighting' it out. But shouldn't you first check to make sure who your enemies are first? I don't think that ANYONE here constitutes the name 'Enemy of Art'. On the contrary, I see a lot of realistic, down-to-earth artists here. You want to change society? To what? Before you go fuck with what is, first sit down and think about what it should be, and the consequences that it would have AS A WHOLE. I don't know how you're going to change the minds of all the greedy ****ers out there without resorting to some sort of mind-control. As for a 'property-less' society, some American Indian tribes did have this type of mentality. But then came 'someone' else, with more power, and changed it. And that's the problem. I choose adaptability over conflict, when I see that 'fighting it out' is just not a winning strategy.
Save your energy, fight battles that can be won, and influence people by deeds. Not saying you have to agree with my sentiments, but blasting others for having a DIFFERENT opinion, go figure. Maybe someday it will all change, but not today. So deal with it. I do. So do others.

no no no no, webshaman....you got it all wrong.

see, *he's* right, because he's been through everything, he's seen everything, he just plain *knows* everyting..........and we all just need to realize that and the world will be perfect. Remember, he's the only pne that cares about anything!

see? simple plan

Well, I did try and start some silliness with this topic, but somehow it ended up being political. There is very little that can be done with our current system, and I'm not about to start fighting it here. Most of the people here are actually quite intellgent, legitimate artists (myself excluded, of course) and are perfectly capable of handling the business end of art on their own.

It's not the first time one of my random rants ended up being taken a bit too seriously.

It's a cool topic in general, but i have yet to actually think about it that deeply or give it much honest attention. Ultimately, it seems to be a socio-economic issue, not a artistic/philosophical one. Just though't I'd try and raise some neckhairs!

In the meantime, I'll just continue to respect others and not steal their art and offer up mine for free to whoever wants it!

Thanks for your replies, all...
