Preserved Topic: Apache/Perl without a remote server?

Hi folks,

I was actually wondering if one can install a copy of Perl5 locally to simulate a web server. What exactly would I need for that? Basically, I'm just tired of having to try my cgi-scripts online every time I make a change...

Assuming windows, you wnat to go get ActivePerl and make it work with the web server of your choice. Tell us more, we'll help more.

Yeah, you can use Perl without apache, it is also a nice language to use for file maitanence, and all other menial tasks that you might hate doing. Network administrators love it

On my windows 2000 box, i installed nusphere (www.nusphere.com)
It includes (i think): perl 5, apache, mysql, and god knows what else.
It was easy to install - everything was installed together.

I really would recommend this package, as its free, and easy to use and install.

I haven't personally used the package that mr.maX mentioned, but i have used nusphere.

I have had no trouble with this package at all, and i would strongly recommend using it.

Has anyone else use Nusphere?
