I seem to be having a problem with either Apache or PHP. They both run fine when I start them, but when I try to stop Apache, it seems to stop, but I'm left with the DOS window and php in my task bar. Is it possible that Apache is shutting down, but PHP is not? I'm not quite sure how to go about fixing it.

Any suggestions will be helpful.

I didn't think php ran as a service...

When running apache you can ctrl-c end the program, but I find it better to go though the task menu and select shut down apache.

With the information provided I would have to say RTFM... I can't really help from here, check the apache FAQ as well as the PHP one. If that doesn't work, give us more information, error messages, more specifics and maybe we could work it out that way.

If that doesn't work then there is allways the mailing lists.

Butcher, are you running the latest version of Apache (1.3.19)?
