Noticed anything out of order in the asylum lately? When you turn on your cell's light switch, does the toilet flush?
Let's collect any unexpected 'features' here, shall we?
I'll try to list the one's discussed in other parts of the asylum.
quote:
- I can't find a next/previous thread link! Has this feature been removed?
- There seem to little oddities with the insert UBB code - wanting to close a tag that has since been deleted, etc. I would think that the best way to implement this sort of thing would be to insert the opening and closing tags together, and have the cursor in between, but i suppose this wouldn't be as handy for the keyboard shortcutters.
- The enlarge button - should it change to a 'contract' button, or just keep getting bigger? The way it currently is, it doesn't actually keep doubling.... pressing it 3 times makes the area 3 times larger, not 8 times larger, i think!
1st response:
quote:
Previous/Next - a) it would interfer with declaring the next page 'next'. (Use a highly modern browser like the current opera, to see what I mean. It blends in a little menu allowing you to click things like home/search/next/up/...)). And it would be nearly impossible to do in a straight forward way, without doubling the amount of queries used on a thread display. (ie slowing this down by 100%.)

Pasted urls (ie, not enclused on an url tag) wont open in a new window
Note: Quoting also can behave a little stragely, stripping line breaks and stuff. It also adds any text signature.... could that bit be suppressed? <edit> ohhhh baby, highlight the text in the post you want to quote, and THEN click the quote button. That is neato.

Also, I can't find any quick way to get to my profile. I have to go find my name
in a thread somewhere or navigate through the member list. Is there a quicker
way?

a profile link is of course going to be found in some place on every page
soonish, the problem was just that we discovered it was missing only yesterday
and there wasn't enough time to think it through then

the arrow image has a few stray
pixels - has this been spotted by anyone else yet?
it's even easier to see if you view it on a white background - just click here to see
it.
WELL, these seem to be the main things logged, there may be more. As to the best way of logging any issues, or resolutions? Personally, i reckon we go for one thread per issue, with the thread topic clearly outlining the issue, so that you can discuss, explain, resolve that issue in that one thread. Tell me what you all think.

PS: if anyone thinks i'm outta line with this new forum and stuff, just tell me. It is a tad presumptuous, considering i had nothing to do with the creation of the Grail, and no power to fix any issues. I just didn't want to keep sitting back saying "maybe you should make a new forum" - i figured i would just give it a shot myself!
