Take a look at float/css problem

I posted two code tags there. I noticed that the font was modified inside the code tags... it is quite bigger. As the result, my post is huge, so I wanted to put a [ small] tag inside the code tag, but it wasn't parsed.

A good thing would be, in my opinion, to reduce the size of the font inside the code tag... or having the [ small] tag to be parsed in it.

Just a suggestion...

The poster has demanded we remove all his contributions, less he takes legal action.
We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.
Don't follow his example - seek real life help first.

Well I know I couldn't read the code if it was any smaller - what browser are you using?

Or increase the resolution of your monitor
In 1280 I rarely have to scroll horizontally. And at worst you could write an additionnal CSS rule based on something like :

code:
body[onclick="hideForumMenu();"] pre
{
font-size:98%;
}

Provided you use a Mozilla or FireFox.

This is where giving an id to the body tag takes all its sense

the code formating has historically been an issue - I remeber firebird once printing anything <pre>d in font-size 7 or so by default - unreadable.

And of course ubb isn't parsed inside code, nor are slimies or linkwords. Nothing is more annoying than to get your code parsed into smilies! (stupid msn messenger...)

Is it possible to include an id or a title ( with the domain name for instance ) to the body or html tag ?
It's compliant with the XHTML1.0 DTD and would allow the inmates to add their custom CSS rules and eventually complete skins for the Asylum.

It'll make it up to the asylum next time I update the code from the development branch. couple of days, at most.

My resolution is 1280*1024 on a 17' screen, and I browse using Opera 7 zoomed most of the time at 100%. As I had to scroll down something like eight or nine times to reach the next post, I thought my post was actually huge... But it doesn't seem to annoy anybody, so let's forget about it

Poi : In Opera 7, you can turn off the stylesheet of the website you are browsing and use your own instead. I could indeed do that to modify that pre tag

well, your code is 3 to 4 pages long on my 1027x786 screen - reasonable, I'd say.

Yah, I just checked that page in Opera 7 and the [ code ] was noticably larger. I've never noticed that before. Perhaps opera has a fixed size for anything you put inside <pre> tags ?

we've been forever fighting the ways different browsers tread <pre> differently... (or anything with font-familiy: mono-spaced for that matter).

poi: And I thought I was the only one who knew about userContent skinning. I was just considering posting a thread about it too, but no, someone else had to go and take the credit. Thanks a lot.

Thanks for adding the ID to the <html> tag, by the way. Certainly makes "skinning" a bit easier.

Tyberius Prime: You're a hero ... well sort of.
ozphactor: At your service
Combined with an @import "mySkin.css"; rule, it can do wonders. Too bad my attempts of execute some JavaScript in an additionnal CSS rule have failed so far it could allow to add some features. Though honestly I don't what features could be added.

I've downloaded the asylum stylesheet and modified the pre tag... Now, I just have to click to switch the modified stylesheet, and no more worries

I also tried some skinning... I played with colors etc, but when I switched my stylesheet I suddenly became aware that most signatures were designed to work on a #2b0404 background, leaving very little room to skinning... Bha, anyway I love the current colors
