The Theme for the week is "Sand & Sea".

It means a photo that shows both sand and sea, "la mer", not only the sea, not only the sand, but both. Sand and sea doesn't necessarily need to be the main subject, it can be just a background so it can be a photo of almost anything on/in/at the beach, for instance, as long as we have "some sea and sand to see"

Rules:
1. Photo needs to go along with the subject in some way.
2. Use thumbnails for photos with any dimension larger than 450 px or over 40 kb.
3. Post as many as you want.
4. At the end of the week the person who chose the topic will pick someone to choose the next topic. This isn't a "winner", just someone who gets to suggest the next topic.
5. No sigs.

Then it's time for a trip to the beach...

Actually, I should have added that lakes are to be considered seas, especially those Great Lakes up there.

Here's the one that inspired me to choose this topic. Again, it's a family photo, now taken by my wife (in Brazil), using a non-digital camera.

I've had these on my photos page for a while. I love the coastal views.

Well, not so many participants and yet not easy to choose, despite the fact that this is not a winner situation. Sunsets, iguana, humor (nice one), landscapes, urbanscapes, beach girls, lots of sand and sea. I liked them all.

But one has to be picked, so POW can go on, and I'll choose this one. So, Briggs, it's your turn. I happen to be sort of biased towards Italian things...

I don't know if someone is keeping track of past themes, but here they are, just in case:

1 - water
2 - light rays
3 - architecture
4 - long exposure
5 - everyday life
6 - portraits
7 - macro
8 - fauna
9 - duotones
10 - self-portraits
11 - abstract color
12 - strangers
13 - stop-action
14 - 3D abstract
15 - windows & doors
16 - look up!
17 - look down!
18 - think old
19 - blue
20 - fire
21 - sports
22 - bugzzz
23 - iron & steel
24 - lost & found
25 - vehicles
26 - shadows
27 - reflection 9
28 - at work
29 - paths
30 - silhouette
31 - wet
32 - christmas
33 - repetition
34 - lines
35 - entropy
36 - relationships
37 - cold
38 - dark
39 - cliches
40 - drops
41 - quiet
42 - technology
43 - your best photo
44 - sand & sea
45 - ?

I thought about picking someone else but I didn't know the rules, the timeout.
InSiDeR, you were the first, you shall be the next.
Very nice sunset. I can hardly see the sand, but I know it's there.

EDIT: oh shait, this double life is hard to manage. I'm Viol.

OK, I'll pick a topic very soon. Just give me a little while to think about it.
