Was just browsing through ->aboutUBB, when I stumbled up on this... [sigrotate]. Are you serious? Care to explain exactly how it works? I've been testing it out in the Sandbox, but it doesn't seem to work the same way Master Suho's script does. For example, when I refresh the page, it doesn't rotate; whatever you saw the first time is what you see everytime thereafter.

Here's a test. You should get a (somewhat) random 5-digit integer below. Refresh the page. Clear your cache. Experiment.

And your number is 36604.

it works by choosing one of the possibilities every time the sig tag get's parsed by the grail -ie. when you post, or when you edit a post. Therefore, refreshing your browser will have no effect.

Refreshing doesn't affect the built-in sig rotator. You need to make a new post.

So this means that everyone should get the same result? Y'all seeing 36604 as well?

And once again, we have demonstrated the superiority of Master Suho's Sig Rotator!

Haha. No, just kidding. I actually think a built-in sig rotator is a fabulous idea. I was so tickled to see that in the code. Great idea on that one!

indeed, suho's sig rotater *is* superior - if only that you don't have to add your images into it by hand.

Yeah, Suho's rotater is superior for those with a lot of images, or who change or add to the random images frequently.

But really......you just can't beat a built-in sig rotation method.

*bows*

I suppose, overall, my contributions to this new version of the asylum were small, but I'm happy to say that this is one of the ones I did. I'm quite proud of it actually

I suppose maybe another option would be to have a modified version of the sigrotator code, and the sigrotate tag feeds the options you give it to the script via GET...but...eh. I dunno, might just add unneeded load to the server. I like this incarnation of the sigrotate code.
