In any future business plan, even if you don't expect it to go far, you should pay attention to all the tools that you use in the creation of said project. If you happen to become widely sucessful you might end up troubled by some shortcut like using a widely talked about file format or an algorithm that is not "free as in free". It is a very dangerous time to create any form of intellectual property, those with more money than you can easily litigate you out of business if they feel you might be competing with them, make sure to protect your interests by making darn sure that everything you do you can legally do.
