I quite like the metal bar, to complicate matters, but not as it is now: the metalish matter doesn't disturb me, it's the way the bars don't "merge" with the rest, they kinda... stand there. They need integration: instead of toning them down, I'd head towards the Doc's sphere tutorial and would try to get inspired and find a nice way to make them a part of the whole. And in case you hadn't noticed, I have something for chromey materials. Really..
