Topic: Logging in?

Forgive me if this is completely obvious, but how do I login and view my profile?

I understand that posting a new thread logs you in, but where is a button to simply login?

I've looked for a similar question in the FAQ, but to no avail. In this forum there doesn't appear to be any questions regarding this matter.

I believe you'll have to check the box called "Remember me on this computer" under your password next time you post - it will keep you logged in whenever you browse the Asylum.

Otherwise, to access your profile you can either click on your name in a post or add your asylum number to the website url as in :

http://www.ozoneasylum.com/1991

The row of links under the Asylum logo would be a nice place for that, dontcha think?

I absolutely agree, ozphactor.

and I absolutly disagree - that row is stuff that's used very often... the profile-link is designated to replace 'recent changes' on the lower right.


Oh, and you never 'log in' to the asylum - you authenticate yourself... the remember me button just presets your username and password.

Not to contradict you or anything...but I believe the register button is only used once by each member...
I believe I would use the profile button much more than the register button, which I have never even clicked on...except for once actually, to see if it would lead to my profile somehow. Anyway, of course, its up to you, and wherever you put it is cool with me...

then you can't authenticate yourself to change your profile anyhow...

TP - I wasn't actually suggesting hiding the Register button, I was just thinking it would be good to have the profile on the upperleft, perhaps next to register...

and either was protected quite a bit or would allow to reveal which of your addresses you used to register here.

the bar at the very top already has 6 elements in it... one more and quite a percentage of people can't grasp it 'at a glance' anymore.
