Some great archival footage of WWII. I love the multimedia section.

This kind of hits home too.

I salute those who have sacrificed themselves for our freedom to live as we choose.

Ditto that. Freedom is not free at all and I am very thankful for those who have made it possible for so many.

I, too, salute and honor those who have paid the ultimate price for us, and many others.

I wanted to add my thoughts here to colleagues of mine who have paid that price, and to all throughout the ages that have made the "ultimate sacrifice" in the name of freedom.

with the 60th anniversary of D-day just round the corner, its a great time to reflect on this.

Age shall not wery them, or the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them"

I pay my respects also.
I often re-read this to remind myself of the price paid.

High Flight
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high unsurpassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.
