Forget bayesian spam filters, it doesn't even compare.

I installed KMail a couple of days ago, and have been using it as my default email client since then. I was writing an email and I pressed send and I got a warning

The program must have parsed the email, come across this line and said "Maybe there should be an attachment and warned me." I felt that this must be one of the best features that any email program has implimented. It saved me from feeling stupid that I didn't attach the file and having to resend the file in a different email, something I have done numerous time.

I was so wowed by this that I had to come post and let everyone know about it. That is all, continue doing whatever it was you were doing.

It is very common to forget attachments. I see people do that all the time. That's a pretty cool feature alright

I can just see this idea taken a few steps further and imagine some pretty funny scenarios much like those Microsoft butterfly commercials. You know, you're about to send a really angry message to your brother or something and the client asks whether it might not be prudent to sleep on it before hitting reply for the sake of family harmony or some such thing LOL

I am writing up a bug report for an angry email warning!

That puts me in mind of the following, sent to me in the ramblings of a friend who, on this particular day, had not very much going on at work (I posted this once before, but couldn't find the thread... so at risk of being redundant, here it is again...):

Listen to me computer retailers, because sales have been stagnant for a
while now, and you need my help. Abuse is a nice predictable behavioral

of the standard shipping package. Call it Lukabot 9 Billion or something.
Luka runs invisibly in the background, waiting. The customer, using Windows,
will invariably lose terabytes of precious data, and along with it, all
control. He will then hit the computer, and it's here that the Lukabot 9
Billion swings into action, crying and beging the user to not "get like he
gets". Nuance is important, now; the first few hits should produce shocked
cries, after that, just an animation of a sort of "resigned to my fate"
cartoon lip that quivers and takes the rest of the user's abuse stoically.
This will play into the guilt factor later, it shouldn't be skipped.
Here's the Marketing Gold, now, pay attention :
After the rage subsides, every abuser feels guilty, and wants only to make
nice again. That's the money pit : you sell endless mouse pads, cables,
wrist guards, keyboards... any vanity item, really, at an inflated cost,
marketed specially as "Amendsware."
Naturally, I'm speaking to Windows retailers here.
You smug Apple fucks may continue to peddle that All The Expense of
Capitalism, All the Choice Of Communisim vibe you've got going, it seems to
work for you.
