Topic: I know I've seen this somewhere before...

I was browsing the forums last night and looked at SOMEBODY'S site, and they had a way to change the color scheme of their page, but I don't remember who's site it was...
if it's your site, let me know!

see, I'm wanting to do something like this : have it where you can select a layout and a color scheme and have it change the way the whole site looks. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to go with PHP on this, and generate a new CSS for the layout/scheme the user selects. any help would be wonderful

My site does this (click sig), as does a number of other inmates'. I started off with code from http://www.alistapart.com/articles/alternate/ and modified it to some degree.


 

The poster has demanded we remove all his contributions, less he takes legal action.
We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.
Don't follow his example - seek real life help first.

Heh... A lot of people do that. My site does it as well. I also started with the ALA code and received assistance from a couple of inmates here (Slime and Cameron, to be specific). My current solution is a combination of JavaScript and PHP, and it works pretty well. I would recommend starting with the ALA Slime posted above, though. You can also take a look at my site (in my sig) to see if maybe that was the one. Could've been any one of a bunch of people here, though.

[Edit: As for using PHP to generate the CSS, yeah, you can go that route, but I don't think it's necessary. Just have separate style sheets that you can switch between. It will be a lot easier to put together, I think.]
