Apologies... I was just pulling one of my disappearing acts again. I realize this is old news by now, but oh well.

The reaction over here was one of disbelief, initially. Then outrage. This, of course, fueled the movement against dispatching troops to Iraq, but I don't think it will affect the government's decision. If anything, it only strengthened their resolve. It's interesting how something like this can strengthen the two diametrically opposed sides of the issue.

I did write about this on my site, but you guys probably won't care for my ill-informed political babblings anyway.

Sickening. Just plain sickening. How anyone could do that.. I don't know.

It appears that these people believe in the same Absolute War ideal shown by America when at war with Japan--that all citezines are considered the enemy also, regardless of how innocent they were. That's why Hiroshima and Nagasaki had the atom bombs dropped on them.

First off, God can't make me do anything. That's not what I said. I have to be willing first, then God can help me. I used those words because I believe that hatred and violence come naturally to us humans (or at least to me), and love and kindness require a concerted effort.

Second, I understand what you mean by "I've seen nothing but hatred caused by a variety of gods," but I disagree. Most of the major world religions preach peace, and it is human misinterpretation and misapplication that leads to violence and hatred. But this is a rather complex theological issue that I'd rather not get into here (although it may already be too late for that).

Anyway, what I wrote on my site was about my own personal convictions. If I believe in God, and I believe God can help me love rather than hate, isn't that a good thing?
