Topic awaiting preservation: Bloody Javascript Windows - Can't Open Them (Page 1 of 1)

I've updated my OS (Win XP Pro), latest IE, and all that and I cant open up some javascript links such as a comments link on a blog or online journal or anything like that. I have the latest version of Java installed and tested it and it's fine.

But I still can't open them. I have Norton Firewall, Net Security and Anti-Virus running (v. 2003) and I turned it off and the links worked and then they didnt and then they did.
Then I re-enabled it and they worked and then they didnt. GOD! It's so frustrating and Ive looked everywhere for a solution and no one or anything knows the solution. Im going nuts!

Don't follow his example - seek real life help first.

You've not by any chance installed the release candidate version of the XP service pack 2, have you? I heard that it includes a popup blocker for IE and it would only be too fitting if it was causing trouble.

Otherwise I'd suggest looking at the Norton Internet security options as I don't think firewall or antivirus should be interfering with popups.

And if all else fails you can always switch to Firefox, forget any security holes and never worry about unwanted popups again...
