Dreamhost supports streaming quicktime, but not live broadcasts. Media has to be prepared in advance with hinting - I presume this requirement is because hinted media is far more efficient. |

I too have been looking into a once a week live broadcast type thing and normally the prices are horrendous - this is because of the server load and bandwidth required for listeners - prices usually start for as low as 25 consecutive listeners and that was something like £500 a month at the place I was looking (not sure where now - I just ruled it out straight away lol). |
