Hi all, I was wondering if you could review my e-store and tell me if any of the coding is causing it to look funky on other browsers or platforms. I am on a Mac platform and am paranoid that it looks funky for other people. The site is not active yet. The code is a mess because I have no control over it. I use a shopping cart that generates .asp pages. Anyway the address is:

http://www.nooksandniches.com

Oh and if you want to go through checkout and login you can use the following:

username:test
password:test

Payment:
Visa
Card #: 4111111111111111
exp: 08/05
CVS: 777
Name: You can use yours, it is in test mode

The layout seems right on linux firefox. A couple of things I noticed:

-I was able to add an item to my cart, but when trying to login with test, test, it did not work.

-I found a wierd characters, http://www.nooksandniches.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=117 has an unkown charactor after the text "just that much easier!"

-The pages don't validate: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nooksandniches.com%2F

-The stylesheet doesn't validate: http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nooksandniches.com%2F&usermedium=all

-You are not consistant with your font styles. You switch from pt to px, and from one font "arial" to a list including a family "sans-serif" ex:

code:
Body  {
[b]font-family : Arial;
font-size : 8pt;[/b]
font-weight : normal;
font-style : normal;
text-decoration : none;

}
.text {

[b]font-family : Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size : 11px;[/b]
line-height : 17px;
color : #333333;
}

the weekends are usally slow in the asylum...

anyhow: http://www.smarttab.org/colors.php - when the page first loads, the white area in the middle is bigger than it is at the end - it get's resized ( by a stylesheet that's seperatly loaded?) - maybe you'd like to adjust the other size as well.

http://www.nooksandniches.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=114 - the 'add to cart' button looks fuzzy to me.

Same page, there's a funny square inside the article text (after "easier!")

The Breadcrumbnavigation doesn't go down to the current page on articles... kinda confusing I think.

http://www.nooksandniches.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=7 - more funny squares - possibly you're not treading \r right?

anyhow, sorry, don't have more time right now.

so long,

Firefox 0.8 on win 2K looks good.
MSIE 6 on win2k looks the same.

The checkout & login section where not visible for me, your given passwords didn't work.
Apart from that i did not like the colors, i fin them a bit dull. But that is not realy a problem since i don't fit the target group anyway. Personally i would put some color in the white central area.

Okay I am going to start working on the suggestions made so far and thanks to ya'll who have looked. Can I get some more opinions on the colors. I got one neg on them so tell me what you others think also. I don't mean to be impatient it's just I think we may be launching within the nest week or so.

A question for Tyberius who responded:

Tyberius: anyhow: http://www.smarttab.org/colors.php - when the page first loads, the white area in the middle is bigger than it is at the end - it get's resized ( by a stylesheet that's seperatly loaded?) - maybe you'd like to adjust the other size as well.

Can you explain the link to me and also I too noticed the page was resizing, can you explain more to me why this is doing this? There are two style sheets used: style.css and custom.css

Oh and if you want to sign in and checkout here is the new login info:

New Username: test@internet.com
New Password: test
