Topic awaiting preservation: phpBB private messages thingy...

I'm making a forum for my site, nothing big just a simple forum in phpBB.

I have a problem with the Private Messages thingy that's in the navigation. I'm not using the default text instead I've got three images for it. One for default(offline), another for no new messages and one of new messages. I need know how to show the proper image at the proper time. Anybody know about this?

Well, they have to determine which state things are in in order to output the proper text, right?

So all you have to do, theoretically, is find where they store that 'proper text', and substitute the HTML for the proper image in each spot.

Hmmm still a bit confused but I'll check it out.
