So I registered "gfxdesigner.com" intending to create a creative pro-oriented site that would compete and beat gfxartist.com, but then I decided a few weeks after registering the domain that if I were to start such a site, I'd start it as a company with a more creative name. Until I'm ready to do that, I need something to do with the domain.

I'm thinking about offering free and subscription e-mail services to graphic designers but that's a pretty bland idea.

Another idea is to setup both an e-mail and portfolio services site... something more extensive than creativehotlist.com provides at a lower cost.

Or sell the domain for profit.

If you have any ideas, please chime in. Thanks.

I would create the site you were initially going to create with gfxdesigner.com and work to get a good following there and later on register the more professional domain, redirect gfxdesigner.com to the new domain and offer a more professional service.

Doing that, I think, would create rebranding issues much like Datsun USA's overnight change to Nissan.

That's none of your business.

Apple provides an OS. Microsoft provides an OS. What's your point?

advertising, be it word of mouth, link exchange, banner ads on like sites, billboards, TV commercials, etc... whichever way you'd like to go about it is a great way to get people to visit your website.

no, not YOU ... just 'you' in general ...

(btw, advertising... sure, but i have never in my life intentionally clicked on an online ad ... just makes the site seem so .. cheap now how would you (in general) generate word of mouth hype .. that's what i find interesting)

as for my point ... depends on what u mean by 'OS' ..
