Pugzly, initial problem: Images are by default inline elements. Inline elements are aligned with the baseline of the text, just like characters (this in order to allow characters such as 'g', 'j', 'q', 'p' or 'y' to "hang down"). If you set the vertical-align property to either top or bottom it should work. Pugzly, new problem: Floats are removed from the document flow, which means that their parent element no longer streches to contain them. A trick is to either float the parent element as well, or to insert an empty dummy element at the end of the parent, and giving it's clear properrty a value of both. Blaise: No mystery there. In HTML, all consequtive whitespace is normalised to a single whitespace, but those single whitespaces are significant. The img elements are inline, meaning they are handled as were they characters in running text, and similarly to what you would expect with textual characters the whitespace between them is rendered. Block elements are not subject to this since they are not handled as characters in running text. -- var Liorean = { prototype: [sigrotate]JavaScript|XML|XHTML|HTML|CSS|ProgrammingTheory[/sigrotate]Guru.prototype, abode: "[sigrotate]http://liorean.web-graphics.com/|http://codingforums.com/|http://web-graphics.com/[/sigrotate]", profile: "http://codingforums.com/member.php?u=5798"}; [small](Edited by [internallink=23174]liorean[/internallink] on 09-08-2004 11:56)[/small] [small](Edited by [internallink=23174]liorean[/internallink] on 09-08-2004 11:58)[/small]
