Hi all ..

My boss came to me this morning with a daunting task: he wants to send a piece of email, with a javascript link so it sends the same email to a friend selected by the user recieving the message, directly using calls to 'outlook:' native functions ..

We can make the same by sending the link to a php/asp page, and make the user input the email of the recipient, but that will be the solution if we can't find how to do it directly with the outlook feature.

Any clues?

Thanx in advance

and I always believed that was a built in function into all major browsers...
(ie - file/send/send site via email or such... opera - mail/send/send link... etc).

so long,

Tyberius thanx for the 'help'

Even thou it is very true it is built in the most basic of email programs, we meant it to be a somewhat viral marketing tool, so even if the user knows he can forward any email, he is presented with this possibility within the message ..

But forget it, I've been reading through many forums and information, and it seems you can't do this unless using a remote file, beign it a perl script, ASP or PHP or similar ..

well... years ago you could use a user's mail client, and have a mailto: link that also contained a proposed subject...
I don't know if that still works, though.
