Hey, guys. How are you doing?
Well, I wanna ask you about MS Access please.
I was copying and pasting heaps text box in one report.
But when I get about 300 text boxes, it won't let me copy any more.
Is there any limitation of having text box in the same one report????

ps. my colleague was saying that there are limitation to VB form. Is that kind of same thing of it?

Do you mean that you posted heaps of text boxes or is there a heaps type for a text box that I'm not aware of?

In either case, why do you need 300 text boxes in one report? Maybe there's a way we can resolve the problem with fewer text boxes.

I am sorry to confuse you.
But anyway, I need 600 text boxes in one report.
My colleague tell me to do it.

It is about info of employee like address, phone num and a lot more details.
So truely I need aproxmetely 300 labels and 300 text boxes.
Then my colleague passed me a MS Access file, which contains about 100 text boxes already.
I made new *report* and copy from it and paste, paste and past.

All the sudden, error message pops up and said:

you can add new controll if you give new name to your form or report.
I don't understand what it was and even don't know if I traslated collectlly or not.
But it seemed me like that.

I asked my colleague and said:

When you make a form using VB, you cannot put more than about 256 text boxes in one form.
So I guess that problem may be caused by the limitation of software.

I don't know why I cannot put 600 text boxes in one form.
Do you know something about it?
And my colleague is right???

Okay, I think there may be a bit of confusion here.

All a report does is pull data from an existing table in the access database and display that information.

A form is a different thing entirely that allows you to enter data into a table using a form type interface.

You are right that you can only add so many controls to one report, but if you need to add more just create several different reports.

From your description of the problem it looks like you might be going at it the wrong way.

See if you can answer these for me:

Is there more than one table you're pulling data from?
What type of data exists on those table(s)? User information?
What kind of report do you want to create? A report listing all the people in the database with their respective information?

There is a limitation to the labels and textboxes and I wouldn't be surprised if it was 256.

However, are you sure that you need 300 pieces of information for each person? That seems to be a bit of overkill. How many people are in the database?

However, you could probably use 2 reports to get around the limitation so that's part of a solution.

Well, my team is making salary package software.
I am a newbie so that I just do what my team leader tell me.
Also I saw the details of it. Then it has not been decided yet exact number of entities.
But my team leader said to me that it would be approximetely 600 text boxes and 600 labels for each text boxes.
I am sorry to confuse you. It was not 300 but 600. That is bloody heaps, a?
Giving and typing name for each text boxes killed me.

Instead of using text boxes you could use text fields, then in the VBA side of things compile together the text to go in the text box, which could be equivalent to quite a number of text boxes.
