That was my only thinking for that. Not to familiar with the SP2 update but if a user opted to open a new window would that be a problem? Say for example I put a "OPEN MUSIC PLAYER" link on the main page that allows users to manually open a music player. I haven't messed with audio too much for websites, yet.
