yay, after about an hour I got it looking ok (at least from my end; remember, my monitor is on it's last leg)

the body is supposed to be almost an olive green color, the neck I hope is close to brown...

if the colors are wrong, if somebody could give me good RGBs for those, I'd greatly appreciate it

C&C more than welcome!

ummm..consider this: the body is not olive green and the neck is as far from brown as it's possible to get. They're bright green and a very cyan respectively. It clashes so badly with the asylum colours as to be...uhhh... very nearly nauseating. If your monitor is making you see the colours that you desire, then I suggest you get a new monitor as soon as you can

Yeah, Skaarjj is right. It's bright green and bright blue or teal.

That, or try the less expensive solution to throw an eye in the color settings of PhotoShop and of your monitor
I X I: The idea of that sig is fresh. Your name is hard to spot, and would find a place of choice on the guitar itself. The lack of anti-aliasing ( and the bright green ) makes your sig ultra sharp. Finally your sig would rock if the guitar had a more natural position : slightly leaned and with volume.

thank you all!

I don't know a good RGB for brown or olive green by heart, and my monitor only shows me greyscale in a red hue if you can imagine that... blue and green, no matter what shades, look very dark red and shades of red look light(er) red. I know it's time to get a new one, but I'm between jobs at the moment.

if you want to donate to the IXI needs a monitor fund just email me lol.

I'm wanting olive green because that's what the guitar I just got is, and I'm really starting to love it .

anybody else here play guitar?

yeah, the whole thing is pretty big, but only if you turn it like that
I'm probably gonna spin it back around, that way it's no bigger than your sig, mas
and I'm still doing good on filesize, the big one's 8k and the little one's < 2k

the only thing I don't like about the second version is that I used a wood filter to do it, the only part that's my work in there is the shape and strings. I was wanting this to be more me, yaknow? anyway, will work on it some more and post the progress here when it gets there.

thanks for the C&C

Hmm, the first try was much better and did actually appear olive green and brown for me. The second try is just a silver guitar that looks horrible.
So I don't know if that means my monitor is crap or what...

I think I just might have this thing figured out...
also, anyone think I should drop my ozzy quote? possibly move it where I have the "I play rock music" ?
this last version (I think...) looks very much like the guitar I actually own.

c&c, as always, greatly appreciated

can you send me to a good link to learn about anti-aliasing?

thanks

I'm gonna add a white border around the inside when I get home... that'll make it look pretty much just like mine and will help out with the borders

I approve of the animation

However, it's still jaggieliscious. Yes, that's a word. Did you turn the number of colors down? Did you set the matte (=background) color correctly?

I resized it from 150x150px to 80x80px, I think that's the biggest problem.

it took 20 frames to get the animation to be as close to smooth as I can manage... any tips?

20 frames is not a prob, and your filesize is still very low.

What I'm wondering about is that it doesn't seem to have very smooth edges, it's all very pixelly. Do you have any idea what has caused this?

Masking and paths have very little to do with it. Do you use imageready to export the animation? Is the image this pixely before you export it?

Propably you've already seen this, but I'm posting it again just in case....

GIMP?

When something gets too jaggieliscious in PS I usually just use GIMP to smooth the edges...

oye, especially fonts.

I am not sure of the reason behind it but it just seems like GIMP gets a better edge for me... maybe some of the sig masters here can let us n00bs know their secrets?

Pixelly... huh, you would think some of the guys here see in pixels... some of the animated teenytinyiferous sigs I see here make me weep. Like that snowflake-melting-morph thing and that rotating pixel wide line thingamabob... I may never make another sig again...

How much time do those things take, mahjqa? mas?

will download it and give it a try, though. thanks for the tip, unknown comic

is the larger version still having issues?

I dunno..., I use the stable version before the last...

Ha! I even have a version on 98SE that still works fine, Old PC...

I let other trailblazers run the BETA's. It's a fairly small download. And, the menu system is not too complicated...

The latest version has Menu access on each window. The older one doesnt have that PS feel, but all the menu commands are a right click away. One thing though, clicking the magic wand in a transparent part of the image doesnt do anything... Cant select transparent pixels. Annoying at times but seems to coincide with a better handling of Jaggies.

Oh, and the bumpmapping is pretty cool, it has fractals....,

and gifs are kinda neat in that you just make the layers and then right click, go to... "Filters", "Animation", "Animation playback."

These links explain it pretty well;

I'm beginning to wonder, why is it that my images don't have the dark red border when I check in the optimized tab in IR? I'm doing something right, apparently, but I get the feeling I'm doing something wrong as well...
