Topic awaiting preservation: InDesign overprint anomaly

I have two datasheets that use the same template and the same settings; however, one datasheet is brighter than the other. The white text looks bolder. The white is bright like the white teeth in dentistry ads. The bright datasheet looks like it's using anisotropic filtering for the text. The other datasheet looks like all printed collateral does on screen.

If I turn on Overprint Preview for the bright datasheet it acquires the same characteristics as the other.

If I turn on Overprint Preview for the traditional datasheet it acquires the same characteristics as the non-overprinted bright datasheet.

This issue is strange and only that one document, the bright datasheet, of my many InDesign projects does this. As I said, the default settings are the same. Both have the same characteristics if one is overprinted and the other not.

What's happening?
