Hello,

I have a suggestion. When reviewing search results, the following text:

This is a thread from Photoshop.
It was started by Kamel on 09-24-2004 and was last posted to on 10-12-2004.

There is no abstract available.
But the discussion starts like this:

...seems unecessary. I'd rather see more text from the messages.
Is this possible?

Also, can we have it search between two specified dates? Pleeeaase?

I like having the forum that the thread is from and the last update lines but yeah, the other two lines could surely hit the road.

Sure, IW!
Try the ->advancedsearch, link is on the on the default search page + at the top of the footer.

But it's true that the results pages could be streamlined some more - when one of us has some time on his hands it might just happen, who knows =)

In the meantime, if you have any more ideas this is the place....

One thing I've always wanted, was a search box right on the main ozone page, (and on all the pages if possible).

I had proposed to add a Search button on every pages a while ago, but forgot to post the image I did to illustrate how it could look :

The Filter link would lead to the AdvancedSearch.

Here's the skinny:

The "There is no abstract available. But the discussion starts like this:" text was meant to encourage you to add an abstract. I guess what it really needs is a link to the add-an-abstract page ('preserve' at the lower left).

The searchbox on the main page is not a completly bad idea, but there are things to be worked out with the tab order, and honestly, some of the 'focus form element' code in this baby is stupid - meaning it accesses document.forms[0] or similar - and would have to be adjusted to keep on working.

I'll add it to the todo list - but I won't anounce a due date. Live's short.

So long,
