When I have my pen still as I can on the wacom, it vibrates on the screen. And stops when the pen is removed from the board. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this or even better how to stop it ?

I have a Logitech MX500 in my PS/2. And the wacom in the Com port. Its quite old. Have removed the mouse driver thingy EM_EXEC to no result. 1600 x 1200, off to check if that makes a difference ...

I think it may be broken, the further from the tablet the worse it gets, lowering the resolution seemed to help but its hard to tell a difference but it still wobbles.

Shot in the dark..

Where's your mouse while all this wobblin's going on?

I had a similar problem but the other way around. The mouse cursor was shaking all over the place...would only travel so far in one direction and not at all in the other direction. I removed and reinstalled mouse drivers... tore apart the mouse cleaned everything inside.. nothing worked. Then I accidentally bumped the wacom and the cursor ran across the screen.

I'd left the stylus on the tablet...flat on the tablet and even tho' the tip was not touching the surface it is close enough to transmit signal which interferred with the mouse. So my question would be: Are you by chance using the wacom next to or close enough to the mouse/pad that you're accidentally shaking it... resulting in... etc.

No, it can't be that, I can stop the shaking by putting it in its holster, the mouse is optical but heavy enough not to be moving on its own at all. I know when you jiggle the mouse while painting the cursor goes a mad quite like what Im seeing but the mouse is definatly still, as when the pen is far enough away it goes perfectly still.

the only time I've seen such behaviour is mouse conflict like NoJive said. Have you tried a different mouse, or no mouse, to see if it affects it?

Good luck man, if it's not the mouse hopefully it's under warranty and/or support

I think I may have had a similar problem a while back Hugh. Eventually I managed to sort out the "Jitters" with the help of the inmate collective
The soloution for me then was to move the graphics tablet as far as I could away from the monitor and speakers. Here's the thread where this problem was discussed: Graphic Tablet Pen Jitter Blues Here's hoping you will find somthing to help you there.

Or Have you checked in the brush options that "Jitter" is turned Off? I know it's a bit basic, but it catches me out all the time

Maybe you check the graphicscard driver settings. I had a computer game which did not run smooth on my comp. After tweaking the settings from my graphic card (and a altering the quality) the game did run better but the cursor did vibrate a little in the game. I don't know which settings i changed but it could be reversed.
