Topic: Can I make more than one type of link with CSS?

Sorry, I am a bit of an idiot when it comes to CSS. Is it possible to define the link class twice, so that I can have, say a class for red links (with its own rollover effects, visited colors, etc.) and a class for blue links (again with its own properties... underlining effects, etc.)?

Any help you can offer would be WONDERFUL. I am stumped.

Wording is important here. You can define any number of classes for any element, or completely independant of any particular element.

There isn't actually any such thing as "the link class" except as it applies to what you've set up as classes specifically for links..

The tutorial you linked to gets into some pretty good detail it seems (I didn't give it a thorough reading, so I can't critique the content), so I won't go into much detail here, but the above two points are important ones.
