Topic awaiting preservation: The Day After Tomorrow.

I recently recieved the movie "The day After Tomorrow" for Christmas. This is a movie that I have been waiting to see for a very long time and when I watched it last night I was highly dissapionted.

I am going to sell it. Aparat from the special affects, I found it didn't have much of a story line and acctually fell asleep through it.

Do you think it is wrong to sell a Christmas present? And what did you think of the movie?

i don't think i could sell a xmas gift. or any gift for that matter. my conscience would kill me. as for the movie itself? well...it was entertaining i guess but eigh........nothing spectacular.

That seems kind of drastic. Even if you hated the movie more then anything what could you possibly fetch for a used DVD, $10? Just stick it in your DVD collection and never watch it again.

As far as the movie goes I thought it was alright. It wasn't amazing but I didn't think it was terrible.

As far as I am concerned, the movie should never have been made, waste of time. As for giving away presents, well if it came from someone that you arnt very affectionate about and it is a gift that you didn't want I cannot see the harm in getting a dollar or two inorder to buy something you want or need.

I honestly dont find it morraly wrong to sell a present when it calls for it. Although a gift is usualy received as a kind juesture, if you dispise the people that gave it to you, I dont see a bad side to selling a present.

Well the movie itself was not great, I guess everyone agrees on this point. Yet, I had the feeling that its main goal was first to entertain, but also to make people aware of what is very likely to happen in a few decades. Some of the events and climate changes showed in this movie are already on their way and *will* happen someday.

I didn't value the movie much, but I hope it will make some people aware of what they are doing and what they'll leave to their children.

I would keep it...

I don't think you'd get much for it, so keep it but never watch it. That way it's there so whoever gave it can see that you didn't sell it, and you never have to watch it again. Everybody wins!

I agree with what Moon Shadow says about the environmental issues. As for the film, it "looked" great, I love the music and subsequently just listened to the theme again for the nth night running But the script and acting was shite. Can't stand Dennis Quaid as it is. Although Jake Gyllenhaal and Emmy Rossum are gems and are the only good thing going for the film other than those magnificant special effects.

I think you'll have a hard time selling it, especially if the person is aware of what kind of film it is and the opinion most poeple have of it. Not unless it's the two disc collector's edition that has all the special features on it then someone like me "might" buy it but then again I already have it so....

I don't see how anyone could possibly have expected this to be anything but pure garbage as a movie.

It pretty much screamed out from the first preview as terrible melodrama.

Trade it in at blockbuster (or some other such place) for another pre-viewed DVD and be done with it...
