We have done so.

Well... I have no doubt that reality does exist, but I imagine that it would cease to do so if I was no longer here to observe it - though after I'm gone, you are free to continue imagining persistent reality.

I am an avid believer that information cannot be created or destroyed, but that it just changes form (same as energy). Thus, ideas (which represent information, or are information, in and of themeselves) are just the changed form from already present information. In that sense, the Universe is not limited, it is us that is limited to comprehend it (or so my belief).

Nature is a curious thing. It has laws, but these laws are not always logical, or in a form that is readibly understandable by the human mind. Unlike human concepts and constructions, Nature goes its own course, for its own reasons. It is our task, to attempt to understand it, and not the contrary.

Now, is Reality really real? Good question. It really is a good question, because there is no real concrete answer here (at least, our limited ability to comprehend Nature hasn't produced an answer, one way or the other yet). The ancient beliefs of the Aboriginals (the oldest human society and system of beliefs) says that we are in a dream being dreamed. I find that a fascinating concept, because it does have some interesting parallels to Quantum Theory. And this was before mathmatics existed as a concept!

I tend to believe in a "Super-Nature" - I think that this natural Universe, is but a shallow reflection of a bigger one, that we cannot see or understand so readily. That we are contained in this natural universe that we call Nature, but cannot see the bigger picture, and thus are limited in our perception of it.

Deep thoughts Ini. I like this aspect of you - please continue! We haven't had this type of deep thought for a long time. Thanks for "dusting it off"!

I think that it is more a problem of our rather "primitive" science and lack of tools, than an impossibility of science altogether. Probably also a lack of comprehension as well. How to measure something not really seeable from this perspective? Like the Hypercube - one can make a model of it mathematically, but one cannot make a physical model. That in turn, makes it hard to "grasp" in one's mind, IMHO.

I think that science is a pretty young area, considering the amount of time other areas have been around. We also do not have a full, working foundation for our science yet (though we are making progress).

Is meditation a way that the Mind has found, to irrationally (if you will) perceive this Super Nature? That is a very good question. What if the brain is just using a technique that we haven't become aware of, scientifically? Or maybe there are types of energy that we just haven't been able to measure yet, because we lack the tools to do so? After all, we haven't been able to nail gravity down yet (though we do have some pretty good working theories of it). That in and of itself is a fascinating thought. And just how exactly does the changing of information from one form to another work? Does it work through particles (like some sort of "mental electron"?) Or is it a wave (like Alpha waves, etc?) More importantly, how can it be influenced? Would it be possible to build a machine that does this (and therefore, maybe producing AI though it?) Would AI be able to do this?

More thoughts on this from other inmates would be most welcome.
