The web standards are not here to annoy the developers but to give them the same and solid foundation to design and develop our web sites. FireFox is quite popular because it's light, fast, customizable and has a hell lot of usefull extensions for the users, but also for the developer themselves. For instance there's an extension to edit the CSS of a website live, you can alter a page with JavaScript, you can translate a page in one click, zoom in/out the pictures, block some Ads, ... You should check the [4900] to get an overview of the various browsers, their pros and cons. ps: the browsers marked with a are OPEN SOURCE, which means that whenever a bug is met all the community can help and fix it and thus provide a correction über quickly.
