Your body need ony be 3 divs, 2 if you use a list for your link container. If you want to show some web savy you are going to need to show that you are using the newest stuff, it (front-end web development) is still a fast paced growing field and you need to show people that you are on the ball with the technology. Ok, so after you fix your code it would be time to think about style. Pick a focus for the site and go for that, don't go over the top, but pick a few colors, maybe a stock photo or two and make them work towards a well a site the embodies your message. If you want to sell yourself as a computer guy go with a computer theme, it can be a little cheesey and over the top, that can be good, but right now it is a very bland understated design.
