the scroll bars in the demo are missing by default (they show up when I drag the thingy)
you can drag the windows out of the 'screen'.
Enlarge and hide needs a reload, and shrinking again puts the window somewhere else than where it was before.
The following sequence causes the image window to loose it's dragable title (the three buttons are still there though) -
hide,enlarge,shrink.
Why can I drag the main window, when it does not have the 'dragable' style of the other windows?
It is an interesting concept, but honestly, I don't see the ui need for another set of windows - which don't handle like all the other windows on my system (including, but not limited to keycombos).
Factor in the overall slugishness (you might want to use xmlhttp or iframes to transfer in the background, while closing the windows right now, and it just feels weird to me.
Good work on making this cross browser, though.

We have done so.

well, I know I'm going into the other direction. More caching, more processing on the client, background transfers, immediate respones (bloody post can happen in the background), a status bar to show 'success'...

Hey, dont blame me.. I'm paid to do this.. it's not my choice.
I know it looks like it's my idea, but honestly, I dont have much of a choice.

Besides, Ini, one does'nt exclude the other.
It's perfectly simple to use it for postbacks of data.
"it adds useless complexity to simple things"
Complex?
It's so dead simple to use, it's stupid.
It's much easier than the same app done using clientside javascripts, that's for sure.

I'm not entirely sure you understand what's going on there.
The point is'nt to replace clientside tasks.
The samples online is to show that you CAN do it, not that you HAVE to.
- It simply makes the usual serverside development easier and faster on an ASP-platform.
-
And when I say it's really simple, I'm still talking about the serverside of things.

Not to argue with you, but if you elaborate on this, I'll be happy to take it up with the guys that I work for.
I've only been working with asp (2 and 3) for about 4 years before diving into any .Net related stuff recently.

ini: most of the time, it just doesn't matter who does the processing. If you have a web interface only a couple dozen of people are using at a time,
basically anything but the most brain dead cycle wasting will get you decent performance - though of course round-trippin' won't get you
great performance. (And said cycle wasting usually involves stupid/unnecessary sql queries in my experience)
And if this does indeed lower development costs, that's easily a good trade off if you don't have zigillions of users.
Btw, you're coming across a tad bit arrogant.

Not much of that sofar though. :-)
>>Designing for 10-12 users is beyond my understanding, and flawed in essence.
Never done anything for a company as a client then?
Besides, I'm curious as to how you think this is actually working, since you are assuming it takes so much power from the server.
>> The fact coding is accessible to most doesn't make sloppy coding "kewl"
I was wondering where all this anger came from.. I never claimed this was "kewl", I dont even know what it means.

This holier than you babble is something for e-mail, not for the Asylum.
Sorry amikael, I'm closing this down. I'm afraid InI sometimes looses his temper.
Start a new post (with a more 'contenty' title, preferably) if you're still looking for comments.
