Topic awaiting preservation: Looking for rock reference?

Maybe some would find this useful.
Photos of 2800 different types of stone. I've just sampled a few and they seem to be of done slates than natural stone, but at least they provide good reference in structure and colours. (The site is probably more geared towards homebuilders than GFX-people)
