Well I caught up and met with "Bugs" this past Sunday. Great guy! Great Family! Great BIG Family... I almost ran out of 'digits.' =)

They followed me to Butchart Gardens where we left the family and their van, then Bugs jumped in with me. 4 hours or so later we collected the family and met up with my wife Caroline. We all jumped into the van and I took them on a quick tour of Victoria. Didn't have too much time for the tour as they had reservations on the ferry to get off Vancouver Island and back to the lower mainland of BC where they stayed with friends overnite. From there, with a few stops along the way, they were driving back home to California.

When Bugs and I were hanging out we toured the Aviation Museum at Victoria Airport and while we were there they rolled out the Tiger Moth.

The owner climbed in the front seat... the pilot gave the prop a couple of 'pulls' then he climbed in, taxied out on the runway...turned around... and lifted off in front of us and 'dipped' the wings as in a 'wave'...and off they flew. It was very cool. Even cooler when you consider the owner...in the front seat... is 82 years old! and the pilot is 84!! Or was it the other way around? Doesn't much matter does it. A couple of guys in their 80's... flying around in a bi-plane kinda says it all I think.

It's an interesting experience this 'face-to-face' thing with someone you've only 'typed' at/with/to.. for several years. Better yet when you come away saying... you would, if the opportunity arose, meet again. 'Friends' you might say. =)

As Wallace said to Gromet it was a 'Grand Day Out' ! =)
