Um... did you check the images folder? Everything is an image. No complicated algorithms and tesselated spheres (wisely!) |

looking more carefully at it, i noticed that most of the objects are drawn using billboarding. |

Yeah, there's no shading here (although that's something I'm a little interested in learning). The blobs consist of 2D circles drawn to face towards the camera, and their eyes and mouths are drawn on the edge of a sphere. The outline is drawn last so that the edges look nice when they're facing sideways. |
