Topic: help

ok, hey guys.

I am not sure where is the best place to post this problem, but frankly I have no idea how to go about solving it in first place.

As you can see, the red borders are out of proportions (did I say it correctly?)

That is because there is too much text. It gets tiring to try to modify each page in Image Ready to fit the content.
The site is supposed to display a lot of information, and I just want to somehow make those borders capable of expanding in contrast with the amount of text will be displayed, so that I could simply duplicate as many pages necessary to paste and fully modify text the way I see fit.

Now I really have no idea how to approach this anymore, I have been trying to figure this out long time ago.

as for me I have a basic knowledge of CSS and HTML...

You just want the red on the left right to extend to the very top and very bottom?

hmm, I think I kinda got it....I guess I had to replace those images with simple empty table cells and add bg color...I believe so far so good....

guess I will have to modify them in css....

btw Ruski, from your webspace i see that you are a student at Ringling. right? now that's pretty awesome. what's your major?

Haha, thanks. I was originally accepted as Computer Animation major. By the end of my freshman year I have switched to fine arts for several good reasons.

After the history of animation course, the modern industry of animation is very money driven. The whole major is very job oriented and they are basicaly cooking up fresh employies for sweatshops aka EA/ILM.

The environment is so disnley like animation driven that they never let you experiment. It's all fine as long as you ultimately want to do that type of work, character animation. But I have a bit different interests.

say, is it hard to get accepted as a student there? or does one just have to come up with enough $$$?

Getting accepted over there is no big deal, but normaly they are looking for a decent art portfolio. Less computer work more life work.

Figure drawing, still lifes, perspective, etc. all this stuff will get you in.

First year is all foundation art stuff, as in CA you wont do any 3D animation until the sophmore year.
It's required to have a core studio program complete. The life in school can be boring, but the education is very good.

As working for ILM? well...I woundn't mind...matte paintings or such would be fun, I just dont want maya to be my primary skill.

here are two problems now...

I need to add 1px of black borders on those red columns and...make the footer kinda go with the size of text, it extends way too far...

any suggestions on how to go about it?
