No, this isn't a parody of the frog server - my abdomen is still intact!
Just a thread because my server died, and my backup only has about 75% of what I had on there. Naturally the other 25% was the most important part. Of course, this is entirely my fault, but I just needed a bunch of overly cheery people to drop my troubles on

Hope you dont mind

Cheery! CHEERY!? Well, we WERE until you threw this at us. Now there's nothing left for any of us but the shock therapy!

So, then, who's up for a round of shock therapy? And who do I have to bribe to be first in line?

what was the reason for its dead?

you know that there are tools that can bring back data even from broken harddisks.

Hmmm...I'm not sure why it died, but some fairly significant piece of hardware - possibly RAM (seeing as linux live discs throw a kernel oops).
I suspect the HDs fine, but it doesn't have an IDE connector, and I have no money to try and get round it one way or another ;p

Besides, as the kind people in the DHTML/Javascript section will certainly attest, it is probably a good thing that most of that was lost anyway
Still, lack of money, time, and a decent router (and the will?) -> www.wrayal.org is probably gone permanently :\

wrayal: Sorry about the crash. But you're right, in a way that's a good thing as you've sharpened your skills since the time you made the scripts you lost and, though the extra work load, it'll be really interresting how ( and how fast ) you'll remake them.

Spent the whole day fiddling, I reckon it was (!!) a RAM issue. Anyway, in my fiddling, I must have done something right, as it magically started to boot again!

I honestly have no idea why :\. After the amount of time I'd spent, I assumed it was screwed. God knows....

Still, might re-write a bunch of it anyway
