Topic awaiting preservation: wacom 3 & painter 9 test WIP

ok...this morning I finally have received my new and shinyyyyyyyyyyy wacom intuos 3 ! mid size 6x8

anyways...

here is my first attempt, so far so good. It's still in WIP stage so dont bitch took about 2 hours to get started, still looking for brushes....

I will post more later...

ok here are few last tweeks....I wanted to add more texture to the wall, but I still havent found the right brushes..ehh and I dont want to rape it...

beside I am basicaly done with this one...no point in overdoing it, I will be starting something new tonight...

Congrats on the new wacom intuos 3 Ruski. Have you used that particular tablet before or is this virgin terrority I'd say your drawing and painting skills are progressing well over the past couple of years or so.

Hey Tao, thanks. Generally I do have experience in art...but speaking of CG stuff, you could say I only had a couple foreplays nothing serious.

This is pretty much for the first time where I really get into it

I look forward to seeing more of your digital sketches in future Ruski. My Medion graphics tablet is huge (16" x 14") I have not been able to get it on the same table as my monitor. So my drawing practice levels have dropped drastically over the past year. I found using the tablet was an uphill struggle for months, I just could not get into it, too many new variables for my brain to get used to like pen pressure, vari-opacity and all the other stuff that comes with learning a new technique.
Then one day, or so it seems, it became much morenatural to use the pen instead of the mouse for drawing, practice is of course the key as you know.
It's late and I'm starting to ramble.

ok...here is another one.

Lately I have been painting in oils alot, and therefor I didnt spend much time doing any CG work.

So anyways I have started another one...done in similar fashion as the first one, similar brushes were used(New future in Painter 9 is Artist's Oils, this medium almost perfectly emulates real oil paints that I use to work traditionaly.)

I tried to give this pic even more moody atmoshphere but focusing on stronger contrast, it was hard making it up, since my reference was pretty shitty.

It's still in early stage, I will polish up the gun and some other stuff later...


anyways enjoy.

well here is a bit of tweeking....I really didnt do much because I love the way picture turned out. I tried rendering the hundgun, but it was ruining the entire image so I guess I left it the way it is...anyways, lets move on onto something next.
