There has been several threads in the past about the link between Autism and various childhood vaccines.

While I've argued that many of the sites reporting this link were sketchy at best apparently theres truth to the rumors.

Deadly immunity

Hmmm...I see no evidence (but then, I cannot read the article further than page one).

Is this being reported anywhere else?

This has been a conspiracy theory that has floated around for years.

The use of mercury is substantiated as it is used as an ingredient of one of the preservatives. I can't see the rest of the article but I am guessing that is what is being discussed. The question is whether or not this mercury can cause the effects described.

I don't know about that, but I do know that mercury is poisonous to the human body, so why is it used at all?

I see no documentation. And it totally ignores the results of the long-term studies done in Japan.

Yeah, I don't really see anything here that is conclusive of anything.

I don't recall where it was, but no too long ago I read an article that claimed new findings exactly to the contrary....

I have no real opinion on this yet. You guys seem much more knowledgeable on the topic than me, so any ideas on the following questions?

If it is not the thimerosol preservative then the question still remains as to why the sharp increases in autism?

Have the increases been relative to countries that use this specific ingredient or a worldwide increase (for instance, Russia, who has banned thimiserosol from their vaccines for the past 20 years)?

Also, has a background been done on where the funding (ie vested interests) for the Japanese study came from?
