Is your son a computer hacker?
A funny piece of satire, but it reminds you that there really are idiots who think like this in the world.

Oh, that is funny!

Lunix is extremely dangerous software, and cannot be removed without destroying part of your hard disk surface.

LMAO! And the advice to stick with AOL protection! Priceless!

The comments are even funnier - it seems that plenty thought it real and slated the author for obvious errors and irrational assumptions. It is actually scary that some people are unable to tell an obvious piss-take when they see one!

My children have never failed to make me proud, and I can say without the slightest embellishment that I have the finest family in the USA.

Two years ago, my wife Carol and I decided that our children's education would not be complete without some grounding in modern computers. To this end, we bought our children a brand new Compaq to learn with. The kids had a lot of fun using the handful of application programs we'd bought, such as Adobe's Photoshop and Microsoft's Word, and my wife and I were pleased that our gift was received so well. Our son Peter was most entranced by the device, and became quite a pro at surfing the net. When Peter began to spend whole days on the machine, I became concerned, but Carol advised me to calm down, and that it was only a passing phase. I was content to bow to her experience as a mother, until our youngest daughter, Cindy, charged into the living room one night to blurt out: "Peter is a computer hacker!"

Blocks are mine.

What a f**king joke! This guy is living in a fantasy world. Obviously, he has no f**king clue what father-son relationship is, and that casts the rest of that vomited blog into doubt.

As a father, I spit on crap like this.

I'm sure that wj will have some interesting things to say about this.

"Here, son, a computer! Now quit bothering me with your appeals for my precious time! NO, WE will NOT do anything together...have you lost your mind?"

Ass.

I'm sorry if my remarks come across so harsh. This sort of stuff just bothers me to no end.

Just a few of my favorite quotes:

quote:
If your son has requested a new "processor" from a company called "AMD", this is genuine cause for alarm.

quote:
Quake is an online virtual reality used by hackers. It is a popular meeting place and training ground, where they discuss hacking and train in the use of various firearms. Many hackers develop anti-social tendencies due to the use of this virtual world, and it may cause erratic behaviour at home and at school.

quote:
BSD, Lunix, Debian and Mandrake are all versions of an illegal hacker operation system, invented by a Soviet computer hacker named Linyos Torovoltos, before the Russians lost the Cold War.

what's up with all the links to whacked out stuff?

this says a lot :

quote:
Adequacy.org launched on July 4th, 2001 with great fanfare and enjoyed a fantastically successful run until it was mysteriously shut down on September 11, 2002 under conditions which the staff are forbidden to reveal.

This site is aimed at middle class white male professionals - the sort of people who have been sadly sidelined by today's victim culture, and the domination of homosexuals, geeks, amputees, racial minorities and Canadians, who have all risen up with their discrimination laws and 'equality' to sadly control the media agenda.

These people are not welcome here. This is where we make a stand. This is where we fight back.

This site is also squarely aimed at the marginalised of society -- homosexuals, geeks, amputees, racial minorities and Canadians, who remain in a state of oppression, kept down by the dominant white male patriarchy and by insufficiently rigorous 'discrimination' laws and the corporate media.

These people are welcome here. This is where we make a stand. This is where we fight back.

Controversial opinions, passionately held. We Are Adequacy.org.

...but, previously:

WS, it's okay - it's just a satire. Anybody who thinks this is real is probably the butt of the joke, but you make a good point of it in one respect; this could be wrongly interpreted by a parent of challenged mental ability and lead to a horrific invasion of AOL software, anti-Lunix petitions, calls for the banning of DOS, and ravers being shunned by respectable PC owners.

I have to admit that the depiction of a family relationship is dire. I feel sorry for any kid whose parents think like that one - they'd be in a prison or mental institute by their teens!

quote:
Even when confronted, your son will probably find it difficult to talk about this problem to you. He will probably claim that there is no problem, and that you are imagining things. He may tell you that it is you who has the problem, and you should "back off" and "stop smothering him." Do not allow yourself to be deceived. You are the only chance your son has, even if he doesn't understand the situation he is in. Keep trying to get through to him, no matter how much he retreats into himself.

I can't help thinking of all those anti-drug posters back when I was at school.

...but it's funny!

There are, unfortunately, many hacking manuals available in bookshops today. A few titles to be on the lookout for are ... "Programming with Perl" by Timothy O'Reilly ...

Or perhaps you're having one over on us, as well?

Believe it or not, but I was a victim of one of those conversations. Ah, one of those drug conversations.

My mother was yelling at me about something ridiculous from downstairs. I don't know. She was mad about something. Next thing I know, she calls me down and starts checking my fingers, arms, and makes me take off my shoes so she could check my toes. I complied because I didn't know what her deal was and I didn't want to make it worse.

I asked her while this was going on and she accussed me of being on drugs. I denied, but she persisted despite the lack of physical evidence. She even did one of those 'look me in the eye and tell me the truth' type things.

No, I wasn't doing drugs. No idea to this day why she thought I was. Rather odd.

Ah, the good ol' days of living at home with an unstable mother.
