Having a hard time at enabling the java sources without enabling them for the whole site though using .htaccess, though.

Thanks, dude, snippets like this, at the moment, only cost me a couple of hours, so I don't mind posting them for the hell of it.

It's not up to my standards, though, as the movement really lacks some whirls, but
a) sharing knowledge is good (information tends to be free)
b) the sprites technique is the interesting bit
c) what should I use it for, if the source is closed?
and d) if anybody has an .htaccess tip for not restricting .java files access for only one folder, please, please, please..

Ah, I was so busy staring at the stars the first time that I missed the .htaccess cry for help.

You should be able to use .htaccess with no problem. Just dump the .htaccess file into the appropriate folder. Or are you asking how to do it through .htaccess?

Also I'd suggest you not use that 'number expanding into an explanation' thing you've currently got going in the navigation... it works fine if you happen to move right to left, but left to right mousing off can causing it to suddenly jump 5 numbers ahead. Perhaps if you use a relatively positioned div with the explanation that is only visiblewhen someone mouses over the relevant number...

Yeah, you're right, maybe some spacing between numbers? Will give it a whirl sometime..
'bout the .htaccess, my main one (root folder) does a great job of hiding java sources, but the one in the above
subfolder doesn't make them visible. Odd stuff... anyhow, this .htaccess thing will be changed when I finally put my "dynamic
java/php sources gpling-zipping" toy.

Forgot to mention you can use "s"(prites) to toggle a normal mode sprite display on/off,
and "i"(ni) to toggle the "snippets by ini" thing on/off.

What I do with .htaccess is just turn it off in certain folders... don't know if you can do that here. What exactly do you have in your .htaccess file that's supposed to make the source visible?

Yes, Hyperbole, this happens on all my banner applets, on about 20% of the Win2k+ / Java 1.4.2+ / Mozilla setups.
The reason is not inside my code: for some reason, the same thing doesn't happen if there is no css in the
web page which holds the applet... I think this is due to a Mozilla instabillity, at the level of the "XPCom" implementation.

XPCom is meant to allow platform independent components interaction: it is what "talks" to Java applets in Mozilla.

Why does it happen on 20% of the Moz setups only? I have no clue, I tried to report this bug to both Sun
and the Mozilla team, who discarded it as it "can't be reproduced"

Until I make a simple html page with the same applet for Moz users who encounter this issue,
what you can do is install a "spare Java virtual machine", a version prior to 1.4.2... that's all I can do about it :/

Have changed the js menu, changed the java code, and I don't remember what else..
Anyway, you can now click the applet, and press "m" to have a taste of color addition, substraction, or the same sprites with no special blending.

A stripped-down css less version is on it's way for Moz users... as well as a fundamental redesign of my site to circumvent this issue.
