The story so far.

Fine dining, fine wine, a B&O sound system but no website i say.

The menu we change at least every week they reply. Can we do it our selves?

Errr yes yes a CMS is what you need. Err. yes. One which produces valid xHTML as well, just like the FETTUCCINE ALL' ARAGOSTA its the way it should be done.

It dawned on me, as it was 05:00, that i dont have the solution. I needed help. So here i am. Where help is good.

Well, I have something rather ligthwight at hand right now (commercial, from the company I work for, but if it suits your tastes, something certainly can be worked out).

Basic idea: Visit yourdomain.com/admin - log in. Hit the 'edit site' link, upload images, etc.
On the site, get a little icon where you can change things.
Hit change, you get an office editor based on tinymce - which does output xhtml if you ask it to.
Hit save, you're website just changed.

Backend side:
-Simple flat file storeage
-Logins stored in text file
-drop one folder, include one php script, place a functioncall whereever you want editable content
-supports 'indirectly editable content' - place one function where the content will appear, and one single 'indirectableEditorsGoHere' function where you want the box with the indirectly editable content. (Page titles, etc...). Do your html template how ever you want it (i.e. XHTML for you).

Contact me privatly if this sounds like it could fit your bill (->Tyberius Prime , Send e-mail)

so long
