Topic: Macromedia Director rating scale

I have spent the last two weeks searching the internet and checking out books looking for how to set up a rating scale from 1-5 in macromedia director and have it save that information to an external text file. I have not been able to find any tutorials on the subject to here I am. If anyone here knows how to use director I would greatly appriciate it if you could point me in the right direction.
