Topic: Another new site

It's a work in progress but I'm always looking for inspiration. I'm using the drupal CMS and I'm still playing with some stuff. (Particularly right now the right nav, I know it doesn't fill up all the way) It's a bit "different" but I understand that I don't see this as an everyday blog so it's mostly just a fun site for myself and not meant to be overly usable.

I know it's a bit top heavy so I may slide the top graphic up a bit. I'm also thinking of breaking out a separate design for "inner" pages as opposed to the front page to make them more readable.

I'm still wondering if I should break out the navigation to a top bar. And how I'd want to handle that.

Biggest freakin' banner image ever. 1055px wide? My entire screen is only 1280px wide. It isn't a BIT top heavy, it is imcomprehensively, ridiculously top heavy. It makes one feel as if the title graphic is what is important on the site, not the content. Yes, you have a height issue at 356px, but the width. . . what could possibly be the need for that?

There needs to be some sort of maximum and minimum widths for the blog paragraphs. As it stands, when the window is maximized the lines are too long to read comfortably and as you decrease the size of the window the paragraph will shrink all the way down to one word per line which is also rather unreadable.

Finally, the image links on the side. If that is supposed to be a photo gallery it needs to say so somewhere. If it is a menu then we have an old fashioned case of mystery meat navigation. Basically, I have no idea where the little picture of a beer can is going to take me (they don't go anywhere currently) and Joe Average isn't going to want to take the time to find out.

banner looks good to me :P ... people with smaller resolutuons may complain though ...
i don't like the positioning of the right vertical bar ... i'd like to see it under the right end of that big white headline ... right now the articles' part is a bit too much stretched out for my liking as well

i guess its a matter of taste but i hate reading white text on black bg :/

overall impression is good tho

Banners really big but it looks good. You said so yourself its just a fun site for you so its ok. But just the same improve the content part. Its the most important part in your site.
